Facebook plugins - smileys and more

Motivation

Today over 200 million people 200 million people a day log on to Facebook. If you are here - most likely you are one of them. It's not hard to see that the way Facebook looks and it's functionality, usability and design can't manage to satisfy even 70% of the people that use it. That default complicated and spammy FB layout, facebook chat that parses only several smileys as images, and stuff like that.

That's why I listed here plugins that you can install to make your Facebook time more comfortable.

Chat emoticons and smileys - Facemoods

Add-on that extends your facebook with animated smileys. It adds a smiley-button into your Facebook chat. When you click it - extended list of emoticons will appear. You can then choose an emoticon that you want to send to your friend and submit it. This reminds me of the good-old isq emoticons. =) You can also send smileys via Facebook and do a lot more different cool stuff.

It's not a virus

If you don't trust me - simply go ahead and check it.

Install

To uninstall

If you'll ever want to uninstall it - just disable Facemoods bar (right click it and un-check), or you can "disable"/"delete" the extension in Firefox. Also, you can uninstall it in the "Control panel".

Firefox script plugins/addons for facebook

A lot of facebook plugins listed below don't work, but as I suggest that facebook is a crap, I don't really use facebook a lot, and so I didn't test all of them. Just the part. And I didn't research that stuff a lot. So if you'll find some facebook plugins listed here not working, or if you'll find some more handy facebook scripts, or addons - e-mail to me (you can find my mail in the bottom of the page), please. And I'll most likely delete them from the list (in the first case), or post them here (in the second case). Enjoy =)

Installing Facebook script plugins

Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that allows you to customize the way webpages look and function.
  1. You may want to view official Userscripts help on GreaseMonkey add-on.
  2. Install GreaseMonkey add-on.
  3. Get on some script's page.
  4. Press Install.
  5. You may need to setup the script. If so, and you are confused - go to step 1.

Scripts

Following add-ons are GreaseMonkey plugin that enables installation of scripts, that are listed below and the scripts themselves. So here's what you need to do (if you want, of course).

Facebook colour changerGives options for changing Facebook color scheme to what you want it to be using a color selector.
In your FacebookZooming avatar pictures - larger versions of thumbnails and profile pictures on mouseover on Facebook.
Facebook: CleanerDeletes ads - this script removes many ads and updates that unavoidably appear on your Facebook pages.
Bearable Facebook WallpostMakes the Facebook wall-post comment section textbox biugger, lengthening and widening it to the width of an actual post.
Facebook Notes QuickEditEasier note writing - adds shortcuts for formatting Facebook notes.
Remember that facebook addons, plugins and scripts only change the way facebook looks on your own computer.
