Create Your Own Web Page For Free

Ever wished that you had your own web page displaying your likes and dislikes and your tastes. Basically, a web page dedicated to you and only you. Agreed that there are lots of social networking sites these days, but having your own URL on any of your profiles on these social networking sites may be a great idea.

You may not fill out each and every info about yourself on these sites (which you usually do to fill up your profile), but instead, leave a link of your web page, and your acquaintances may get to know more about you from there itself.
Users of about.me provide you with the option of adding sites like Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Youtube, WordPress etc. which will be directly linked to your URL. New users need to register first. For registering, first step is to click on the ‘Create Your Profile’ icon. Next, you need to give your e-mail id, create a username and password, as shown below.
A brief description about yourself will be displayed on your homepage. The next step, is to select an attractive background for your homepage. You can choose from a wide variety of backgrounds from their database or you can upload images from your PC as well.  Once, your profile is created, your homepage on about.me/yourname will look like this:
There are a few services provided as well. For example, a dashboard is provided which gives you a detailed analysis of your page. The number of clicks on your homepage, number of views etc., all are listed on the dashboard. You can view other users’ profile and then get in touch with them via social networking sites or e-mail (which are of course linked to their about.me page).
