iDubba is a strong web site which aims at sending reminders to its users for their favorite shows. The reminders could be sent online via e-mail or via SMS. The concept of the web site is helpful, keeping in mind people who tend to forget watching their favorite TV show (s) owing to busy lifestyles.
It works extremely well for housewives as well (who account for the major portion of TV viewing audience) as users get to know about various other shows based on similar concepts as their favorite shows. You need to register first with iDubba with your e-mail and create a password. After following the link sent to your inbox, the registration completes. Then users are required to create their profile, listing their favorite TV shows, movies etc. Once done, you are directed to your home page where you can customize TV shows and much more. A snapshot of the profile completion process (for first time users) is shown below.
Once you fill up your favorite shows and movies, click on proceed. Next, you will be directed to a page where you’ll be required to select favorite shows and genres from a list. The genres could be business/finance, comedy, celebrity chat shows etc..
Next, users are required to select the preferred notifications. You can select a preferable source of reminder receiver, which can be via e-mail and/or SMS. Users may also select other preferences like social network sharing. Currently, iDubba can be shared via Facebook and Twitter only. After selecting, click finish and your profile is created. You can view shows of your interest on your homepage.
There is also an option of “Don’t Recommend”. So if you have listing displaying a certain genre which you dislike, you may remove that from your list by clicking on “Don’t Recommend”.
Overall, we highly recommend this web service to all those who keep busy and tend to forget the timings of their favorite shows. Even to those who are big TV buffs and are willing to explore new shows.
